Civil Rights Trail Road Trip

February is Black History Month, and we think it's a great time to plan a meaningful USA road trip for later this year. 

If you're like us, road trips are part of your personal travel heritage. And in this era when international travel is a little more complicated, it's a great time to dust off the family car, download an awesome playlist, and head out on the open road.

Our friends at the Wall Street Journal have suggested some great cross-country road trips, and we think they're a fabulous solution for many folks in 2021. This article comes with tips for safe travel in the COVID era, and that's high on our list of priorities.

One of our favorite itinerary suggestions is their Washington D.C. to Denver route, along the U.S. Civil Rights Trail. Among other stops, the highlights include:

• Washington D.C.: Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial near the Lincoln Memorial
• Memphis, TN: the site of Dr. King's assassination at the Lorraine Motel & the National Civil Rights Museum
• Denver, CO: Black American West Museum and Five Points, Denver's historic Black neighborhood
