Suggested Costa Rica itinerary: 9 days/8 nights
- 3 nights Gulf of Papagayo
- 4 nights Arenal area
- 1 night San Jose
Day 1: Gulf of Papagayo
Fly into Liberia, Costa Rica and head to your luxurious accommodation in the Gulf of Papagayo, a short drive from the airport. The once-small fishing village of Playas del Coco has become a vibrant area and great for adventuring. Or simply relax on the beach or at your pampering resort or private villa.
Days 2 & 3: Gulf of Papagayo (Playas del Coco and vicinity)
You have 2 full days to soak up the sun, check out town and enjoy the beach.
Beach hopping and snorkeling are must do’s!
The Gulf of Papagayo has many little bays that are home to beautiful white sand beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters, and ideal snorkeling spots. Enjoy them all on your private boat, at your pace.
Fishing is a local enterprise, and a way of life for many locals. The on- and off-shore fishing here is great. Think snapper, tuna, mahi mahi, marlin and rooster.
Ziplining, scuba diving, and surfing are popular here, too.
As are tasty cocktails at sunset.
