Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere
~ Martin Luther King, Jr
Martin Luther King, Jr. was tragically gunned down in Memphis, Tennessee at the Lorraine Motel on April 4, 1968. America's Civil Rights history is only one reason to visit Memphis and the beautiful Southern USA.
That motel, and an adjacent building, now form the National Civil Rights Museum, a Smithsonian Affiliate.
As one of our nation's premier heritage and cultural museums, it follows the mission to share the culture and lessons from the American Civil Rights Movement and explore how this significant era continues to shape equality and freedom globally.
